Task

Forming the group
Your school has asked that teams be formed to investigate the cultural life in Bali.  Each team of four will be required to investigate a range of  areas of the Balinese Culture and produce a report for the school to base its decision upon.

Team decisions
The team must decide the format of each individuals report, and the groups final report before the research begins.  A word processed report or a Power Point presentation is preferred by the school management.

Individual Roles
Each individual team member will be responsible for researching a particular aspect of the culture and preparing an overview of their findings to report to the group.  You will become an expert on that part of the culture through your research.

Group Task
Part 1
Create a Mind Map of the Balinese Culture based on the findings of the group.

Part 2
Prepare a report for the school that outlines the following areas:

  • Special events and aspects of daily life which will effect the way a school is run

  • Subjects that will need to be taught (in addition to traditional subjects) because they are important to Balinese culture

  • The benefits to Australian students visiting the school (from a cultural perspective)

  • Overall recommendations to your school in regards to building a campus in Bali

The report must be in the format determined earlier and be of a suitable standard to present to the School Council.

The information you provide will enable your school to have a clear picture of the environment in which they will build their school.
